Entertainment giant NBCUniversal, which launched several Aptos blockchain-based projects on Aptos last year, has agreed to a long-term partnership with Aptos Labs to continue to create fan experiences and games based on its IP through the network. Following The Exorcist and Renfield experiences on Aptos, NBCUniversal will continue to work with Aptos Labs in the coming years.
The companies shared the news exclusively with Decrypt on Thursday, describing it as a multi-year alliance and "long-term strategic development agreement" that will see Aptos Labs assist the media giant as it continues to explore blockchain-based apps, games and loyalty programs. Greg Reed, Vice President of Technology Partnerships at Universal Studios, said in a press release, "Today's media and entertainment landscape is changing rapidly, with fan experiences and preferences driving more change than ever before. Our multi-year partnership with Aptos Labs will help us deepen our relationship with fans so we can create and deliver more of the media and entertainment experiences audiences crave."
NBCUniversal is part of Comcast Corporation, the conglomerate behind numerous film, television and multimedia brands, including the NBC television network, DreamWorks and Peacock.The company also owns a vast amount of intellectual property in various forms of media and will continue to build blockchain experiences around these assets and brands.
