Aptos Delegated Pledge Help Document

1: Pledge

What is a delegated pledge?

As an APT holder, you can "entrust" your APT to a pool of tokens. The total pool is a collection of staked APTs from a variety of token owners, jointly collateralized.Aptos is a proof-of-stake network, which means that the tokens are collateralized to a validator to keep the network healthy.
When you delegate a pledge, you own your tokens and receive a pledge reward on this pledge amount. The Validator does not have any access to the tokens at any time, as the tokens are always securely controlled by you. Pledged smart contracts are security audited and thoroughly tested before launch.

Can anyone pledge?
Yes, anyone can.

Is there a pledge amount requirement?
Yes, at least a pledge is required11APT.

How do I get involved in pledging?
You can pledge APT directly by visiting the Blockchain Browser Verify Node page and connecting your wallet. If you are using a Petra wallet, you should see the following flow:

1: Visit the Verified Nodes page of the Blockchain Browser and select the node you wish to pledge the APT to.
2: On the Authentication Node Details page, click Pledge to start pledging APT with this authenticator.
3: If you have not yet connected your wallet, you will be prompted to connect your Petra wallet first. Once the wallet is connected, you can start pledging APT and approve transactions in the wallet via the Pledge dialog.

Congratulations! You have successfully pledged APT on a verified node!CLIPledge the APT directly to the authentication node.

Can I release the pledge at any time?
You can unpledge your APT at any time, but the funds will not be available until the next validator unlock date. The validator unlock period is 30 days, but the time begins to run when the pledge pool is activated. Depending on when you choose to unpledge your APT, you can get your token back in as little as a few hours, or you can get it back in 30 days. This means that if you unpledge within 10 days of the 30-day cycle, you have to wait 20 days. If you unstitch 18 days into a 30-day cycle, you must wait 12 days. If you unlock the token and the unlock date has passed, you will be able to withdraw the token.

When can I withdraw my assets?
You need to take two actions: release the pledge and withdraw the money.
You can withdraw the unlocked APT at any time as long as the APT is in unlocked status. If you pledged the APT, you will have to first release the pledge and wait for the asset to unlock. At that point of time you can withdraw it. You can see the unlock date in the control panel.

What do these states mean? (Staked, Withdraw Pending, Withdraw Ready)
"Staked" means that the tokens are currently pledged and locked, and cannot be withdrawn until you complete the "Unpledge" process.
"Withdraw Pending" means that you have initiated the unpledging of these tokens, but they are still locked and you need to wait for the next unlock date. Until then, they will not be available for withdrawal. You can check the unlock date for your node by clicking on the node's detail page.
"Withdraw Ready" means that you can withdraw funds. When you perform a "De-Pledge" operation, all previously "Withdraw Pending" funds will be withdrawn together.

What is the "add pledge fee"?
You may see that the amount pledged in your wallet is less than the total amount of pledges you have added. This is because you didn't start earning rewards until the start of the next Epoch. This will be refunded at the end of the current Era.

2: Rewards

Can I get rewards by pledging APT?
You can earn rewards based on the amount of APT you pledge. Your node operator deducts a certain commission, so the reward you receive will be reduced by that commission.

Can operators change their commission rates?
No, the commission rate cannot be changed.

What's the approximate amount of money I'll make?
The reward you receive will be calculated based on the amount of APT you pledge multiplied by the current annual reward rate and the Verifier's reward performance minus the Operator's commission rate.

When do I start earning rewards?
You will start getting rewards at the start of the next Epoch. Epochs are reward cycles, currently 2 hours.

How can I see how many rewards I've earned?
You can view the amount of rewards earned by going to the page of the validator you pledged.

3: Verify the node

What is a validation node?
Validation nodes confirm transactions by raising and executing blocks on the network. Their holdings help prove that they are trusted to vote in transactions. You can find out more about this in thehere areRead more about how the Aptos blockchain works.

How do I select a validation node?
You can choose from the Blockchain Browser Page Leaderboard, which shows detailed information about the performance of the verified nodes. Validators start getting rewards when the delegate pool has at least 1 million APTs. Only active verifiers will be rewarded. However, please do your own research, Aptos Labs is not responsible for the authenticity of the information displayed, nor for the safety of your funds, or the past or future performance of the verified nodes.

How to measure the performance of validation nodes?
